Daily agricultural advisory

Practical, localised farming guidance delivered every day — by SMS and voice, in Somali.

What it is

M-Tacab delivers daily, season-aware advisory for crops, livestock and fisheries. Content is organised by livelihood, region and season and sent over SMS, with voice (IVR) for farmers who prefer to listen. This is the live core of the platform.

This service is operational today.

Independent research (Fabregas, Kremer & Schilbach, Science 2019) found mobile advisory raises yields ~4% and practice adoption ~22% at very low cost.

All three live verticals: crops, livestock and fisheries.

Which language and dialect?

Somali only. The Maxaa dialect is live today; the Maay dialect arrives in 2027. Voice (IVR) supports farmers who cannot read.
